KeystoneREN is excited to welcome our new Chief Technology Officer, Ken Miller. Ken is a customer-focused IT Leader, with a strong background in Research Systems Design, Network Service Implementation, and Financial Sustainability of technology grants.
Ken is experienced in implementing information systems, creating and delivering educational materials, conducting impactful training sessions, and tuning network and data transfer efficiencies. His expertise encompasses a wide range of technologies including research and enterprise networking, optimizing networks with perfSONAR, performant data security architectures, research cyberinfrastructure, Science DMZ design, and data focused software applications.
As the CTO of KeystoneREN, Ken is dedicated to driving secure and high-performance scientific collaboration, while offering valuable resources and support to the research and education community. Ken is committed to leveraging network data to enhance financial planning, infrastructure strategy, and user engagement.
Ken holds a degree in computer science from Juniata College. He joins us from the US Department of Energy’s ESnet (Energy Sciences Network) at the Berkeley Lab, in Berkeley, CA. Prior to that, he served as the Cyber Infrastructure Engineer of Penn State’s Science DMZ and Research Networking services.
